கௌசல்யா செந்தாமரை
இவர் பிரபல வில்லன் மற்றும் குணச்சித்திர நடிகர் காலஞ்சென்ற செந்தாமரையின் மனைவியாவார். 18.01.1946 இல் பிறந்த இவருக்குத் தற்போது 72 வயதாகும் இவர் இப்போதும் திரைப்படங்களிலும், சின்னத்திரைத் தொடர்களிலும் நடித்து ஜமாய்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.
இவர் செந்தாமரையின் சொந்த அத்தை மகளாவார். காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் அறிஞர் அண்ணாவின் தலைமையில் தான் இவர்களின் திருமணம் உறவினர்களில் சீர்திருத்த முறையில் இனிதே நடந்தேறியது. ’சுமைதாங்கி’ என்ற ஒரு நாடகத்தில் இரண்டு பேரும் அண்ணன் தங்கையாக இருவரும் நடித்தார்கள். அப்போது இவர்களுக்குக் காதலென பெரியோர்கள் எண்ணி திருமணம் செய்துவித்தனர். 29 வருடங்கள் இணை பிரியாத தம்பதியாக திகழ்ந்தனர். இத்தம்பதிக்கு ராஜலட்சுமி என்ற ஒரே மகள். இவரது கணவர் செந்தாமரை 1992-ஆம் ஆண்டில் அவரது 57-ஆவது வயதில் காலமாகிவிட்டார்.
1961-இல் வெளிவந்த “திருடாதே” என்ற படத்தில் வெள்ளித்திரையில் அறிமுகமானார்.
”ஜீ” தமிழ்த் தொலைக்காட்சியில் ஒளிபரப்பாகி வரும் `பூவே பூச்சூடவா‘ தொடரில் யுவராணியின் தாயாக வில்லித்தனமான கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்து வருகிறார். மேலும் சன் தொலைக்காட்சியில் ஒளிபரப்பாகி வரும் “நந்தினி”, “அழகு” மற்றும் கனா காணும் காலங்கள் தொடர்களிலும் நடித்து வருகிறார்.
”வயசுப் பசங்க நாங்க”, ”உன்னைத்தேடி”, “சில்லுன்னு ஒரு சந்திப்பு”, “சமஸ்தானம்”, ‘’ஜெயம்’’ உள்ளிட்ட பல படங்களில் இவர் நடித்துள்ளார். சென்னை ஆழ்வார் திருநகரில் தனி ஆளாக வசித்து வருகிறார்.

After nambiar, senthamarai did popular fatherly antagonist role well until mid 80s,…
he exceptionally did splendor fatherly role in thooral ninnu pochu, moondru mugam, thambikku entha ooru,chinna poovey mella pesu, athisaya piravi, aduthathu albert , metti, kannil theriyum kathaigal etc…
the list will not stop here, he also very close friend with sangli murugan- so worked in pandi natu thangam and periya veetu pannakaran, enga ooru paatukkaran etc..
he was very close friend to vietnam veedu sundaram and sp muthuraman, due to this he almost worked with them in almost with their directed or scripted films…
he had lucky enough to been worked closely with mgr and sivaji ganesan stage play troupes.from the recommendation from Karunanithi. In MGR play troupe, he met his wife, who also worked in mgr stage plays as leading artist well before senthamarai joined. Due to some personal conflict with mgr domination, he moved to sivaji troup with the help s.a kannan actor., who was incharged for sivaji stage play troupes.
In sivaji stage play, he acted as hero role in the play irandil ondru, which was later came as film thangapathakkam and instead of him, sivaji layed the lead role.
He hailed from kanchipuram, , neighbour and close friend to aringnar anna durai. With the help of annadurai, he came to Chennai to meet karunanithi. to get film chances.
so he worked with 3 chief ministers and due to stance follower of dmk party, he never accepted kalaimamani award from mgr later.
P.S: I read from old cinema magazines, due to his affinity with dmk, he lost many roles in balachandar and bharathiraja movies….so bharathiraja used g srinivasan as villain for his most films. Also, sentharamarai was like jack fruit, outside he posture looked like rough, but he was humble, good human being and importantly very straight forward….
He died in early age of mid-56, due to sleeping habit (insomnia) and health conditions affected to that. Not only health, he lost many movies offer with his close friends, as he was not active in the morning hours… his working style was late afternoon to late night…that many did not offer roles in later 80s and 90s due to his wierd working
hours. Even K Bhagyaraj said after thooral ninnu pochu, he wanted to give role in munthanai mudichu for oorvashi father role (later went to ss sounder- who did justice to the role)…
In those years, delhi ganesh, saruhaasan, thenkai srinivasan, g srinivasan, ss sounder, kallapati singaram, gounda mani, jankaraja gave value to character roles like ranga rao, k sarangapani,s v subbaiah etc…

K..K. என்பதாகும். அவர், S.S.சௌந்தர் அல்ல, K..K. சௌந்தர் என்பதுதான் சரி. நீங்கள் எழுதியிருந்தது போல அவர் முந்தானை முடிச்சு படத்தில் அந்த ஊர்வசியின் அப்பா வேடத்தை மிக சிறப்பாக செய்திருப்பார்.

Thank you sir for briefing about legend actor senthamarai. some more points from my side which i head from TV interview and books. Both MGR and sivaji sidelined him since he was equally competent with them as hero (espacially his physical apparance is very good than others).
Gousalya is the spouse of senthamarai. She also told about him in interview that he was taken care of family in good manner.
Shri Thiruvenkadamkonar father of senthamari had land and milk farm (village bigman- . that is why he got easy chance to meet annadurai and then karunanitdhi at that time). senthamarai was straightforward and he never asked cinema chance to anybody due to the way he grown up in well off family. His acting interest forced him to go to cinema industry. TRajender, rajnikanth, bhagyara had given him enough chances due to his honest and straightforward.
